Se Ji 8008 ---Yunnan Paintings Exhibition Held in the Country

Eastday net “The National Exhibition of the Modern Print and Heavy Color Painting”--- Se Ji 8008 first stopped at the China millennium monument in Beijing on Dec.20th. There would be displaying different wonderful paintings. We can appreciate the writing style and unique charm of Yunnan modern prints and heavy color paintings.

It’s said that, in the late 1970s, some Yunnan local painters created a new painting technique of Yunnan characteristics by means of the local special natural humanities resources, combining with the concepts and the skills of the traditional claborate-style painting and the western modern painting, which was called as “Yunnan painting”. After nearly three decades of undergoing the constant changes ,development, and mature, it had got great achievement. The glorious time of 1980 to 2008 years witnessed the prosperous development of the Yunnan’s print and heavy color painting in the society and market .

According to organizers, all the works in the exhibition had been sold out in a short time, contrasting the slack art market in Beijing ,which showed us a glimmer of hope under the unpromising situation in the arts.

It was understood that the exhibition was the key project of the ministry of culture , sponsored by the cultural department of Yunnan province.
